Survival guide homework

Next year the year 8's will be starting college and might find it stressful or hard. Here are a few points that should help them with their first year of college here.

First point is you should always try make friends with everyone you meet. This is a real help because the more people you know the less lonely and bored you will be at breaks! Since the school does not really have break time things to do, this would come in handy because you can just hang with all your friends when you are bored.

Second is you should always be nice to everyone you meet including the teachers. This is also a big help because people will always respect you and will be more friendly toward you, and when showing towards your teachers they will always like you and give you good marks, which is always a good thing and you will be in the good books with your parents.

Last point is you should always try and be the best student you can be. I know I don't do this that much and I regret it but if you can do it you will be well remembered and respected by everyone.

So if you do these things you should do alright for the first year of college.

Letter homework

Tuesday 15 November

24 Mcleod Road

Dear Miss Tipa

I am writing this letter to you to let you know how much I have enjoyed your class and how you have been my favorite teacher this year.

This whole year your class has been my favorite because it is the most fun and gets everyone involved. I personally like this because I like being active and playing lots of team based games and sports. The class that you take is the best and I just wanted to let u know that. (:

Also I think you are an awesome teacher altogether! I say this because you are a very straight up teacher and good at dealing with me when I am mucking around or not doing my work. Plus you are very fun but when you need your point across you can be dead serious, which is a very good combination for a teacher.

So that is all my reasons you are my favorite teacher and what I like about you.
Best of wishes for going to Australia! (:

Yours Sincerely

Dale Barron

Celebration homework

In our family we celebrate Guy Fawkes. Every year we do this with everyone that lives at home ( me, mom and dad) . In our family we normally light them off and watch them blow up. This celebration is done all around the world by millions of people, by lighting fireworks off on the 5th of November and watching what they do. 'Guy Fawkes' was the creater of these. One day he was thinking of a way to blow up Westminster Palace and kill King James 1, so he decided to put some gunpowder under the building and try and kill him by blowing it up. At failing he got capptured and was tortued and put to death. The rules of this event are you can light them on nights leading upto the 5th but not anything after, but we do it anyways.

Here is a example of some going off.

So that is what me and my family do for the celebrations.

Changing school homework

If I was in charge of Alfriston College I would change 3 things. First, I would allow the students to play sports in the gym at both breaks. I would do this because many students of today have requested it and it hasn't been granted by the princapal. This should allow a place for students to come when it is raining outside and they cant play out there or just a quite place to chill and talk with there friends.

Secondly, I would expand the astro courts so that it can accommodate more classes if the field is wet or damp. Also I would open these up all year for the students to play on, because I see alot of touch players and soccer players that use the astro turf at breaks in winter and then complaining in summer because they are closed. This should get more students active and healthy by playing more sports outside.

Last of all, I would change the modules for the year 9 students, so that they could pick what they wanted to do in this time period, and to have some time away from there class. I have heard many complaints about this by the year 9 students saying that they would like to pick what they would like to do. Since I am a year 9 student aswell I fully agree with this statement and would like the change aswell.

So that is what I would change in Alfriston College. (:

Internet homework

This esay is about if I think that the internet is or is not a dangerous place. Personally I think it can be a dangerous place for people if they do not know what they are doing. Many people have been scammed and tricked into doing stuff that they don't want to do. I think when using the internet you should always have someone next to you or close by monitoring what you do incase something unusual happens or someone is trying to scam you. Also there could be bully's on social networking sites that your kids or even yourself are on, so you should always be careful on what they are doing.

Apart from the dangers of other people, the internet can be a great place for researching information that you need if you don't have a library near you. Also is can be used for contacting friends that you may not have seen for a while on social networking sites like facebook or twitter. These sites can be very useful but very dangerous at the same time. So in conclusion I think that the internet is an awesome place for many things but you need to be very careful of what you and always double check it before you do it to make sure its safe or not.

1st homework

Review 2
I-lean
In week 8 9IC and 9IN were included in a programme to help our learning by doing a project independently or as a pair. This project lasted for 3 days from Monday through Wednesday. I did mine with a partner; we did ours on the Rugby World Cup 2011 and compared it to the 1987 one because they were both held in New Zealand and partly Australia. Personally I thought this project was a waste of time and was not necessary. For the first 2 days we researched and started on our project, on the third day was finished our project and presented it to the rest of the students. Overall it was really boring and I did not enjoy it!!!!

How 2 backflip
On Monday 26 September i finally learnt how to backflip on a trampoline. I learnt by been shown a couple of times by the kids around the neighbourhood, and thought to myself that I should give it ago because it looked cool. So I thought I would give it ago. The first time I tried it I wimped out and landed on my back, so the others encouraged me even more to have another go, so I did. They told me to flip my legs back over my head, so when I tried it for the second time I was successful and completed my first backflip on the trampoline. After I did it everyone started cheering and saying lots of good comments. So every day I need to practice it to get more fluent at doing it.

What a Flip is?
